Roll-out Garbage & Recycling Cart Times & Fines

Roll-out carts provided to residences by the city as provided in this division shall be placed near the curb, or near the street, but not in the street, or in such other accessible place approved by the superintendent of sanitation.

Carts shall be placed in such location no earlier than 5 p.m. o'clock one day prior to the date of collection, and shall be removed no later than 7:00 p.m. o'clock on the date of collection.

Each residence receiving garbage collection service shall receive a notice from the City indicating the days on which collection will be made.

Any person who is physically unable to place the garbage roll-out cart at the curb or near the street by reason of physical limitations shall be excused from doing so by submitting a written request to the superintendent of sanitation setting forth such physical limitations and receiving permission from the superintendent to be excluded from placing the cart at the curb or near the street.

Customers should make suitable arrangements with neighbors or friends to set out and remove their roll-out carts from the curbside if absent during the hours specified herein.

A customer allowing a container to remain at curbside outside the hours specified herein shall be deemed to create a nuisance.

Containers observed to be on the street at times not allowed shall be removed by employees or designated agents of the City's solid waste collection provider and placed near the front edge of the residence or near the garage area.

A tag shall be left on the cart handle explaining the infraction and service performed.

A fee of $7.00, as stated in the City's rate schedule for the service will be charged to the monthly utility bill.
