About Garden City's Police Department
The Garden City Police Department provides full service public safety and law enforcement services to its citizens and visitors. The Police Department employs 39 sworn officers supported by 4 civilian staff. Public protection is provided seven days a week, 24 hours per day. In conjunction with our community, the Department works to preserve the peace, provide a safe living environment, and ensure the protection of life and property.
Garden City's Police Department Services include:
Patrol Division
Captain Joseph Papp has served with the Garden City Police Department for over 23 Years and is currently assigned as the Patrol Division Commander. He oversees the daily patrol operations to include the Traffic and K9 units.

Criminal Investigation Division
Lieutenant Lindsey Talley has been with the Garden City Police Department for over 15 years and is currently assigned as the CID Commander. The CID unit are general crimes investigators. They investigate crimes from misdemeanor Thefts to Homicides.

Administration Division
Captain Brian Hood, a 27-year veteran of the Garden City Police Department is currently in charge of the Administrative Division. The Garden City Police Department Administration Division is an integral component of the department responsible for a gamut of support services vital to the overall successful, efficient operation of the agency. The responsibilities include: Accreditation and Certification, Training/Recruiting Unit, Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS), Evidence/Property, and Police Records. Each component is responsible for a different discipline and is closely intertwined with the other. In short, the Division is the hub of the agency and brings all things together.
