Local hazard mitigation planning is the process of organizing community resources, identifying and assessing hazard risks, and determining how to best minimize or manage those risks.

Mission

The Garden City Emergency Management Coordinator is responsible for all hazard planning and implementation, to eliminate or reduce the severity of any catastrophic situation that might arise in Garden City, Georgia. The Coordinator will develop plans and procedures, for both natural and man-made disasters, thereby helping citizens prepare for, respond to, recover from and mitigate the impacts of disasters.
